What is the SOS plate?
The S.O.S. plate helps Steadicam operators and Camera Assistants work more efficiently on set, by creating one uniform mounting platform between Steadicam and studio mode. It’s designed to fit all industry standard dovetail plates – including Betz tools, XCS, Tiffen, Sachtler.
The S.O.S. plate’s add-on adapters (added to the original plate) are designed to fit different (smaller) sized cameras and are bought separately.
Who invented the SOS plate?
The SOS plate – both the standard dovetail and supplemental adapters – were invented by Steadicam operator and inventor, Justine Browne.
