It’s the piece that makes yer bridge plate genuinely useful in situations it wasn’t originally designed for. What you can do with the Arri Bridge Plate Wedge:

Balance on a shotbag. When you need to rest the camera on a shotbag and keep it level, you need a flat surface to work from. The wedge gives you that inside the BP, stable, planted, not going anywhere.

Go handheld when you can’t remove the BP. Sometimes the bridge plate stays on because there’s no time to pull it, or the next setup needs it back immediately. The wedge converts that situation from awkward to workable. Flat surface, camera rides properly, you move.

Mount a Touch & Go. There are 3/8″ screws on the wedge, so you can mount a Touch & Go Plate directly to it. Now yer camera can drop into a QRB without removing the BP. Quick, clean, modular, exactly what Chase described when he said he loves being “fully modular.”

Add a shoulder pad. There’s enough surface area to velcro a shoulder pad straight to the wedge. Kelly did exactly this: “I velcro’d a shoulder pad to it and can quickly mount and dismount via a dovetail. Very handy.”Shoulder work sorted, no extra hardware required.

Run longer cameras. The wedge is intentionally longer than the base plate. That extra length lets you slide the camera forward when the balance point isn’t directly under the plate, useful for longer lenses or heavier front-end builds where the balance point needs to shift.
