Clean’s Cable Catcher, a throwback to the days of old. Let me tell y’all about working with film cameras in the 1990’s. Every Panavision camera had a 2″ wide velcro strap on the carry handle where you absolutely had to keep the power cable. Power cable always went with the camera, no on-board batteries back then meant no alternatives. If you forgot the cable, you were in big trouble.
We don’t shoot film much anymore, but that discipline was right. When 1st AC Karla Mendoza asked Clean to bring this cable catcher back, he did.
The Clean’s Cable Catcher mounts to any camera handle, rod, or rail. Comes with mounting hardware, but you can also zip-tie it or use yer own. The metal mounting bar is solid enough for anything you’d put through it. Available in 1″ and 2″ widths, the 1″ is great for shoulder pad straps and thinner cables, the 2″ covers thicker power cables and larger straps.
At $35 it’s the cheapest thing on the site and one of the most useful. Watch it in action here.
