Frequently Asked Questions about the Quick Release Base Left:
How is the QRB-L different from the standard QRB?
The release lever is mirrored, it’s on the left side instead of the right. Everything else is identical: same dimensions, same plate compatibility, same USA-machined quality, same lifetime repair policy. The only reason to choose the QRB-L over the standard QRB is ergonomic preference, specifically whether you want to keep yer right hand on the camera while releasing the plate.
Is this for left-handed operators only?
Not necessarily. Some right-handed ops prefer the left-release for the same reason, it lets the right hand stay planted on the back of the camera during a quick pull. It’s about workflow, not handedness.
Does it work with the Arri BP9?
Yes, same 3/8″-16 threaded holes as the standard QRB. All the same mounting configurations apply.
Can I get it in a color?
Yes, all eight anodized options available as special order (Black, Red, Blue, Gold, Green, Orange, Gun Metal, Pink). One reviewer has several in fashion colors to match different setups and make gear easy to spot. Pre-order at the top of the page.
What’s the lead time on backordered items?
2–7 weeks for the QRB-L, slightly longer than the standard QRB due to lower production volume. Email us if you have a hard deadline.
Does it come with a Touch & Go plate?
No, add one here for $110. QRB-L + Touch & Go is $535 total for the complete system
I have several of these in fashion colors. Great quality and the anodizing makes mine easy to spot and match setups
It’s always good to have options. This is a good one when you need to mount the plate reversed from the normal operation.
Satisfied with this RBQ plate and its orientation. Great quality and craftsmanship
