How does the S.O.S. Plate actually work?
It clamps over yer existing Steadicam plate while it’s still on the camera. The plate slides into the S.O.S. channel, locks in place, and the S.O.S. then mounts to whatever receiver you’re working with, a head, a cart Mitchell, a baby pin setup. When you’re done, unclamp and the camera plate stays dialed in exactly where you left it.

Will it work with my rig?
The standard plate fits any 3″ Steadi plate, Pro, XCS, MKV, M1, Mw, Ultra, Shadow, Betz, and Sachtler all confirmed compatible. If you’re running an Archer, Aero, Shadow, Zephyr, Ronin 2, Trinity, or Maxima, you’ll need the corresponding adapter (sold separately, select from the dropdown above). If yer rig isn’t on either list, email us before ordering and we’ll confirm.

Do I need to buy the adapter separately?
Yes, adapters are sold separately and listed in the dropdown on this page. The base S.O.S. Plate is for 3″ plates. If yer rig uses a narrower channel, select the right adapter.
