The Moses Fork is how you properly dock yer steadicam rig. When the Steadicam op needs a break, somebody has to hold the rig & the forks do just that.  They can also bolt to a Moses Pole or a Dock Kit baby pin mount, and the rig rests in the fork while the op gets a moment. No scrambling, no improvising, no holding a $100k rig over yer shoulder waiting for someone to deal with it.

Three reviewers, three five-star ratings. “Heavy duty, perfect” and “beautifully machined” are what comes up. These are made to hold expensive equipment every single day and they do it without drama.

Each fork has a recessed 3/8″ hole for a bolt (included) to mount to either the Moses Pole or the Dock Kit, each sold separately. Safety pins are not included; get them direct from McMaster-Carr.

Available in four sizes:

  • 1.5″, standard
  • 1.75″, standard

Frequently Asked Questions about the Moses Fork:

What size fork do I need?
The size refers to the width of the fork opening, match it to the width of yer Steadicam rig’s post or arm. If yer running a Volt rig, select the Volt option. For standard rigs, 1.5″, 1.75″, and 2″ cover the most common configurations. If you’re unsure, email us with yer rig model and we’ll point you to the right size.

Do safety pins come included?
No, the Moses Forks do not come with safety pins. You can get them direct from McMaster-Carr. We don’t sell them separately.

Does the fork work on its own, or do I need the Dock Kit or Pole?
The fork needs something to mount to, either the Moses Dock Kit (for mounting to a baby pin) or the Moses Pole (for a dedicated docking pole system). Both are sold separately. The bolt to mount the fork to either system is included with the fork.

What’s the difference between using the Dock Kit vs the Moses Pole?
The Dock Kit mounts the fork to any standard 5/8″ baby pin, so you can attach it to a stand, a cart pin, or anywhere else you’ve got a baby pin. The Moses Pole is a dedicated telescoping or fixed pole system designed for an AC or dolly grip to carry on set so the op can dock the rig without needing a stand nearby. Both use the same fork.
