Why won’t my regular stubby work on Touch & Go screws?
Touch & Go plate screws have an unusually wide slot, wider than most standard flathead drivers are built for. A regular stubby tip sits in the slot but doesn’t fill it, so under torque the driver cams out and you lose purchase. The AC’s Driver has a thicker blade tip that actually fills the slot, so you can torque the plate down properly without the driver walking out.
Which one should I get, straight or T-Driver?
If you only get one, get the straight. It’s the everyday workhorse, fits in yer pouch, right tool for tightening and loosening in tight spaces. The T-Driver gives you more torque for stubborn screws and faster rotation for quick adjustments, but it’s wider so it’s a less natural fit in a small pouch. A lot of ACs eventually end up with both.
Will it fit in my AC pouch?
Yes, both versions are sized to fit in a standard AC pouch. The straight is 5″ × 1″ and 4oz. The T-Driver is 4.5″ × 2.75″ and 2oz. Neither will weigh you down or take up meaningful space.
Does it work on screws other than Touch & Go plates?
The wide blade tip works on any screw with a wide flathead slot, it’s not limited to Touch & Go plates. That said, it was designed specifically for the T&G slot, so that’s where it really shines

The straight driver is very useful when you need a wider width driver and something short enough that will fit in your pocket or small AC pouch

This is my 2nd driver from Clean’s. Love the compact and sturdy size.
Always good to have another screwdriver, but I do like using the straight handle!
